You are not required to register prior to viewing web site content. Therefore, you can access and browse the website without disclosing any of your personal data or information. Should you wish to use the shopping cart, "wish list" or "tell a friend" functions of the site, you must register your billing address and email address and generate a password. When purchasing with a credit card, the card number and expiration date must be entered each time (into a secure site) and is not kept in our records. If you wish to order without registering and using the shopping cart you can email or call and submit your order information personally.
Many companies will use "cookies" to store information regarding their website visitors. A cookie is a piece of data stored on the hard drive of a computer containing information regarding the user. When you register, as described previously, your address, email and password will be collected and stored for your convenience -- your credit card information will not be collected, except for the processing of each specific order. (Credit card information is not actually collected by ACS directly, but rather by the ultra-secure payment "gateway", Authorize.net, and it travels from Authorize.net to your bank, or credit issuing institution, for approval, in highly encrypted form.) This same arrangement is used by some of the most well known, and trusted e-commerce, sites in the world, like Amazon.com, etc. The only "cookies" ACS uses are those which will then allow you, on return visits, to access and utilize or modify your account information, view your wish list, or track the progress of your orders.
As previously stated, you are not required to disclose any personal information while simply visiting the site. In the case that you do release personal information, for the purpose of registering, signing up for the newsletter or making a purchase by email or phone, credit card information will not be stored for any future use, unless you specifically request it for the purpose of making non-shopping cart orders. Furthermore, ACS will absolutely NOT distribute or sell your physical address or email address to any third party for any reason.
You can be confident all necessary steps have been taken to protect your personal information both on and offline. Only employees who need the information to perform their specific job duties, such as shipping clerks, are granted access to any personally identifiable information. Furthermore, any such employees are trained on the importance of protecting personal information, and are kept up-to-date on company security and privacy practices.
If you have any questions regarding this privacy policy or the manner in which your personal information is handled, please feel free to contact Barbara Smigel, owner of ACS:
